Top Aces is a privately owned company and the exclusive adversary air provider to the Canadian and German armed forces, with a growing team of more than 40 fighter pilots worldwide.

Mission

To support Top Aces’ continued growth, we set out to revamp their website, focusing on:

  • A dedicated careers page to attract top talent

  • A reorganized site map to better showcase company culture, fleet details, news, and events

  • A modern, clean UX that reflects Top Aces’ precision and professionalism

My Role

As Lead Designer, I worked closely with the Top Aces executive team, refining their web presence & brand experience to align with their expanding global operations.

 

This project also gave me a unique opportunity to design for a company in the air force industry, requiring a deep understanding of aviation aesthetics and military branding.

Content Strategy Support

The Journey

Phase 1: Information Gathering

The first step was conducting interviews and contextual discussions with Top Aces crew to gain insights into:

  • Their company identity & global business impact

  • Their motivation behind rebuilding the website

  • Their brand guidelines & industry image

This ensured that the design direction aligned with both their vision and the professional standards of the air force industry.

Phase 2: Wireframing & Moodboarding

Through multiple sitemap revisions, I developed early structural sketches, effectively stack-ranking content sections for internal team review and iteration.

Phase 3: Asset Creation

With creative support from the Top Aces team, I worked on asset creation, developing a range of visual and interactive content, including illustrations, photo retouches, UI components, and motion pieces, to elevate the visual storytelling and reinforce brand identity and user engagement

Design Exploration & Iteration

V1 Concept: Homepage Directions

The initial V1 website concept explored three distinct directions, each emphasizing different approaches to:

  • Content hierarchy

  • Visual composition

  • Color combinations

Final Delivery

After several rounds of iteration, the V1 effort evolved into the final design, integrating mishmashes & experimental elements.

 

The final website officially launched, and the refined Top Aces experience is now live—feel free to check it out on their official site.
